Well...let's just start out with, I don't have a clue as to what I am doing! :-) But here I am. So just bare with me. Today is especially exciting because later today I am going to become a first time homeowner! Mike and I have gone through alot together to get here, and owning a home of our own has always been a huge goal for us. We never thought we would get here, what with the housing market prices up in NH.
It all started, back in December, the day before Mike's b-day, and right before Christmas, as I was getting ready for a Mary Kay party, which I traveled through a snow storm from work to get to. I walked into the door at my mother's house, and I knew something was wrong by the look on her face, and she told me to call my husband. Mike had to tell me over the phone that he had been laid off. My heart sunk, we both knew there was no way that we would make it on my salary alone, and he came out with the idea that we should move to North Carolina in a month. I thought he was crazy, there was no way we could do it, and the thought of leaving my family frankly scared the crap out of me. His mother, my awesome mother-in-law, who was at that time living in Texas wanted to move, and they both thought if we all moved together, we could make a start of it.
So after helping our Mary Kay rep. get out of the ditch outside, that she got stuck in because of the snow, and somewhat participating in the make-up talk. I went home, fighting the snow, and the idea of moving so far away.
Needless to say, we talked for a long time that night, and I reluctantly agreed to move. I will admit, I was not keen on the idea for quite awhile, but I went with it. I trusted Mike and I am glad that I did! I do miss my family, although more good news. My sister has already moved, and my parents and my Beepa are going to in a couple weeks. For the most part things in our new state are going great, and I for one hope they continue to do so.
