Boudreaux And Band-Aids

(that's pronounced BOO-dro, for y'all not familiar with Louisiana) Boudreaux staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Thibodeaux. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Clotile. He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump.

A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful. Managing not to yell, Boudreaux sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the hall mirror to see that his butt cheeks were cut and bleeding.
He managed to quietly find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a Band-Aid as best he could on each place he saw blood. He then hid the now almost empty box and shuffled and stumbled his way to bed. In the morning, Boudreaux woke up with searing pain in both his head and butt and Clotile staring at him from across the room.
She said, "You were drunk again last night weren't you Boudreaux?"
Boudreaux said, "Mon cher, why you say such a mean ting?"
"Well," Clotile said, "it could be the open front door, it could be the broken glass at the bottom of the stairs, it could be the drops of blood trailing through the house, it could be your blood- shot eyes, but mostly...... it's all those Band-Aids stuck on the downstairs mirror.
HA HA HA

Life Doesn't Always Seem Fair

I don't really know if anyone will read this. I write this more to get things off my chest. Some already know what I am about to say. Two weeks ago today, I did the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Mike and I separated and I packed up everything I hold dear and moved out of my home. Things were not working anymore, and events happened that can't be taken back. I just hit a point when I asked myself "Why am I putting myself through this? Why am I staying?" The only answer I could give myself was that 'this' wasn't healthy, and I need to get out of here. I am not here to bash, or point any fingers. Everything that happened isn't for everyone to know.
I know it sounds stupid, but I feel like a failure. Sometimes life isn't fair, and I feel like right now I got screwed. This wasn't suppose to happen, not to me. Course, that's what most people think when something bad happens isn't it. I just try and get through each day, and remind myself I have to breathe. I try and put myself back together piece by piece and tell myself I can get through this. I am lucky enough to have wonderful family and friends. It sometimes takes bad things in life to remind you how many people love and care about you.
I don't really know what will happen from here. I still feel like I am wondering around lost most of the time. I just hope to end up somewhere good, happy, and safe in the end.

Choking Victim

While eating at their favorite diner, two Texans hear an awful choking sound. They turn around to see a lady turning blue. The first Texan rises, hitches up his jeans and walks over to the lady.

He asks, "Can you breathe?" She shakes her head no.
"Can you speak?" he asks. She again shakes her head no.

With that, he helps her to her feet, lifts up her skirt and starts to lick her butt. Shocked, the woman coughs up the obstruction and begins to breathe. The first Texan turns back to his friend and says, "Amazing how that there Hind Lick Maneuver works every time!"

Life & Science Museum...take 2

We spent most of yesterday at the Life & Science Museum. They have just about everything you can imagine there...from space exploration and dinosaurs to...how tornadoes are formed....

To live creatures...

...and not so live creatures...

....leaf cutter ants...

(the whole colony of ants)

....and of course the creepy crawly bugs...

....saw the poison dart frogs again...

...then more butterflies!

They had bears, and coyotes, and snakes...Oh My!!
Some of it was pretty.

And of course the silly lemurs...."I like to move it, move it!!"

Can't Let A Lil' Rain Stop Us

Yesterday, despite the untimely rain, we made yet another trip to Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Kathy had never seen them, so we had a quick tour of part of the gardens so she could get a peek at the pergola.

The umbrellas were very necessary.

Then to avoid the inevitable down pour to come, we booked it outta there and headed over to the museum for the day.
