A Cup Of Coffee Cake
Pinterest strikes again! Though I have literally "pinned" hundreds of ideas on said site, I have yet to try alot of what I am finding. I did try a recipe however which is worth sharing! It's a cup of coffee cake, it's actually off of someone else's blog. I liked it cuz it leaves me with only one serving to eat, and it's extremely easy and quick to make (you literally make it in a coffee mug and microwave it!). Try it! **click me** ☺

May I Issue A Complaint?
I am gonna issue my complaint anyway. One thing that drives me completely bonkers is being at a social gathering and all that most people do is stare at their handheld electronics!! What happened to socializing face to face??
I realize I am being a tad hypocritical by stating my complaint on here (an electronic device/the internet) as apposed to someones face. But frankly, if I did tell it to their face (and I say this with past experience). Nothing changes. So I am really just throwing my complaint out there to make myself breath easier. Venting is a must (which I again say, with MUCH past experience).
I will however add...if you would rather "facebook" me, then talk to my actual face...just stay home. *sigh*

Agreed!
"People walk around with a tremendous misconception of what it means to be single. Singleness, in its basic definition, means to be separate, unique, and whole. To be single means you are separate from everyone else, and you are unique in yourself-which means you recognize there's no one like you, and you have worth within yourself. To be single also means you are whole; you don't depend on other people to make you somebody. " ~Dr. Myles Munroe

Getting Organized
Finally! Tossed that busted up 3-ring binder that was literally bursting with recipes. Compiled all the recipes collected from the internet or magazines, and found them a new home! Took me quite awhile to organize the chaos, but its all done! All cataloged into things like "main dishes" "desserts" "breads" and so on....
Annnnd...it's already full ;-) Guess I should of gotten a bigger binder ☺
Happy eating ☺

Read Any Good Books Lately?
Like most things, I go in and out of stuff. I might craft/paint alot. Then get a little burnt out and move on to something else, though I will inevitably go back to craft/paint, or what have you. Right now I am on a reading kick. When time allows it. (Even while still looking for employment, which seems to be never ending at this point, and incredibly frustrating!!) I find alot to do to keep myself busy. I find the library has alot to offer (cheap is my specialty lately). This book however I did purchase (1/2 price, thank you Amazon!) for my b-day. I had been wanting to read it for awhile. And I highly recommend it. Though some might find it a bit juvenile, it is a bit of a mix between Harry Potter and Twilight (both of which I loved reading). It certainly makes you use your imagination.
"A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs.
It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.
A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows." -Amazon.com

The author (Ransom Riggs) also put together a book trailer.
Happy Reading!! ☺
*Cheap, Cheap*
With my current financial situation, I have had to learn some cheap or even free ways to still do things. One thing I lack now is simple cable. But with an internet connection, I have found a way around that. With things like hulu.com which allows me to watch my favorite shows (though sometimes a week behind, but it's free!) and I can even watch movies on crackle.com. (Not the MOST current, but it's still a free movie, and it's a way to supplement my already decent sized DVD collection.)
I also now visit sites like coupons.com and hip2save.com. Pinterest.com also gives me lots of money saving, cheap, or free ideas.
Every little bit helps. ☺

A Bit Of An Obsession
Okay, so recently, and I mean very recently, I joined Pinterest. This was something I had been avoiding for months, friends and family have been on it and kept telling me I should join. I waited out because I had heard it was a bit addicting and I just didn't see a need for it.
For those of you that don't know what I am talking about, Pinterest is a site that lets people share photos and ideas from all over the web. From your favorite brands to handy household tips (like how to make your own cleaning products), to organization, clothing, designs, craft ideas (one of my favorites!), kids, pets, recipes...you get it, there is ALOT! I, like many others, have been sucked in and can't stop finding ideas!!!
One idea I found, which I just loved, I had to make. It was easy and cheap enough. The idea is taking your old T-shirt and making it into a cute scarf. I made a more chunky version with an ol' T-shirt I had here at home that I didn't wear anymore.
I liked it so much I decided to make another, this time with a T-shirt I bought for $1.
(Yea, I would never really wear this shirt either, which is why I felt no sympathy in hacking it right up with some scissors.)
*snip snip*
...then you simply cut your fringe...
....then the fun part, you just pull at each piece of fringe....
and Tada...a scarf! ☺
(I ended up trimming the bottom of the fringe and adding knots instead.)
I am gonna be crafty crazy! ☺

Welcome 2012
"Here's a toast to the future, A toast to the past, And a toast to our friends, far and near. May the future be pleasant; The past a bright dream; May our friends remain faithful and dear."
Hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Years! Hoping this year brings good things... SO glad to put 2011 behind me.
