Funny

Kids say the darndest things...I found this and it reminded me of Beepa:

Grandma's Age:
A little boy asked his grandmother how old she was.

"39 and holding," she replied.

"Well, then, how old would you be if you let go?"

What's Been Goin' On...

So, I haven't blogged in awhile. I just haven't felt up to it much. And it hasn't exactly been the most exciting around here either.

Our Easter was nice. Mike's mom Mary came down from NY for the weekend and spent Easter with us. She even got us Easter baskets, hehe. We had to go to plan B when it came time for Easter dinner though. It was still a lil' too frozen, oops. So instead we went to good ol' Bob Evans and had a nice dinner. Love that place, really friendly, relaxed, and great home cooked meals. So what if it is usually full of blue hairs, they know where to go! hehe. Reminds me a little of Friendly's up in NH. After that we went to the carnival. It was the last day they would be in town. Lots of fun! Not our typical Easter, but it was nice.

Lately it has just been alot of the same ol' thing. Working, studying, cleaning, keeping everyone fed and keeping the yard mowed. It has been in the 80's the last couple days, and it looks to stay that way the rest of this week! We have been doing alot of grilling! All the flowers are blooming, and the leaves are all popping back out. Only thing not so nice, has been the exuberant amounts of pollen. I've had to rinsed my car off with the hose every few days just to see out the back window! Everything outside has turned yellow! Hopefully soon that should slow down. Keep your fingers crossed!

Slippery Lil' Sucker

I got home from work today and let Toby out. That is my number one priority when I get home. He is so excited he is just about bouncing off the walls, and he really needs to pee. So like usual, I let him out, and it was nice out, so I proceeded to go and sit on the steps off the deck. Toby was running all around our fenced in area of the yard. Go here, and pee-pee, then going there, and pee-pee some more. He has to mark everything, he is a boy after all. I was just sitting and relaxing my poor feet, which felt sooo nice. (I am on my feet all day at work.) Every once in awhile I would glance over to keep an eye on what the puppy-dog was doing. I watched him run all along the fence in the very back of the yard. Then I looked, and he looked as if he is on the other side of the fence. (It's a chain link fence, so I can see through it.) I thought my eyes were just playing a trick on me, and it was just an illusion that he was on the other side. I jumped up and started walking towards him. He was still walking along the fence, and coming towards me.
As I got closer I realized I wasn't just "seeing things", Toby was definitely on the other side of the fence. I had to quickly call him and open the gate to get him back in before he realized what he had done, and proceeded down the driveway. Sure enough, he came right back in. Now I had to figure out how the heck he managed to do that. Thinking there might be a hole in the fence, I ran back behind the shed and to the corner of the fencing. There is a, maybe three inch, gap in the fence, where our fence connects with the neighbors. And that sneaky dog slipped right through it. I don't know how he managed to squeeze through, but I saw no other way of him getting through. Geeze, now I really gotta keep an eye on him! Funny thing was, he never even knew he had done it.

Funny

This gave me a giggle...

A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night and have dinner with her parents. This being a big event, the girl tells her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and "do it" for the first time. Well, the boy is ecstatic, but he has never done it before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some protection. The pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about protection and doing it. At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many he'd like to buy; a 3-pack, a 10-pack, or a family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be very busy, it being his first time and all. That night, the boy shows up at the girl's parent's house and meets his girlfriend at the door. "Oh I'm so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in." The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl's parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head. A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer with his head down. Ten minutes pass and still no movement from the boy. Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girlfriend leans over and whispers to her boyfriend, "I had no idea you were so religious." The boy turns and whispers back, "I had no idea your father was a pharmacist."

2. Position me in a photo anyway you want me. (mom will anyways)
3. As my mother used to say, you're full of bologna!
4. I always stay standing up while I catch my breath and cool down after I'm done working out or doing something strenuous.
5. Even in the most crowded of rooms I feel lonely.
6. Today is a day fraught with peril. (I had a not so good day at work, I wish I could tell a certain person how I really feel, but then I would no longer be employed there, hehe)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I am looking forward to getting some stuff done around the house and relaxing towards the end of the night, tomorrow my plans include some shopping and maybe a lil home improvement and Sunday, I want to try and spend some time with Mike....he has been working so much I never seen him !

Toby vs. Ducky...after the fight.

After the infamous Toby vs Ducky fight. Ducky took a turn for the worst. He quacked his last quack. Toby now holds the Championship Trophy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent on Ducky's behalf to the National Wildlife Federation.
(that was for you dad!)

29 on the 29th

With all the computer problems, I wasn't able to mention it in time. But before I forget, last Sunday my parents celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary!! I can only hope to be so lucky. Love them both! Let's see 29 more :-)
(talk about an old picture...I am sure you can guess who)

Who Thought Of That?

It's been awhile since I posted last. But in my defense, my computer was having a hissy-fit and wasn't working correctly. I think I finally got it fixed, only time will truly tell. But I got something in the mail yesterday that made me laugh.
We get this catalog from CatClaws every so often. It is full of stuff for your cat. I am not one of those people that is cat obsessed and has kitty furniture throughout my house. We only get it because when we adopted Katie from the Concord-SPCA amongst all her paperwork were some goodies. Like we got a free visit to our vet if we took her there within a week, and there was a free cardboard kitty scratcher pad we could send away for. Since we lived in an apartment and it was free, figured what the heck, let's get it and see if she prefers to claw at that. Needless to say, she didn't give a hoot about it, she thought the furniture was more fun. But ever since then these people have sent us there lil' catalog. I think most of what is in it is a lil' much, but I did purchase one thing out of it, the kibble catcher. I love it!!! It catches all the food those kitties drop out of there mouths, and Katie can't drag the water bowl wherever she pleases (leaving us to step in it or there were the occasions when she would flip it right over completely!)
Anyways, we got another catalog in the mail yesterday, which I admit, I usually ignore. But yesterday I was in a rare mood and decided to look through it. Amongst all the kitty toys, scratchers and treats I came across something that I found totally odd. Right next to the cat collars they have a cat muzzle. That's right, a kitty muzzle?!! At first I thought that was awful, but then I couldn't help but laugh. When Mike got home I suggested we get it for Lily, hehehe. He too found this funny. We would never really get it for her, but I definitely thought about it. She has a tendency to chew on wires (electrical wires). But I would never be able to bring myself to putting a muzzle on the poor lil thing. Even though they are on sale, hehe.

Poor, Poor, Kitty!

2. "He acts pretty crazy, but that ain't no matter."
3. "After dark the rain began to fall again, allll weekend, no zoo, plan B."
4. "The gold was taken from the hold of the Spanish galleon."
5. "There was a hand in the darkness, and it brushed against my skin." ;-)
6. "Accidents ambush the unsuspecting, because if they knew it was coming, you couldn't ambush them, duh."
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having some quiet time, tomorrow my plans include getting up early and heading to Reidsville to visit all the visitors and Sunday, I want to celebrate my parents 29th Anniversary with them!

Sweet Song

Yesterday morning, while at work, I was listening to my usual radio show. I listen to the same group of DJs every morning that I work, 'Bob and the Showgram', with "Kentucky Kristen" and Mike, are hilarious. The head honcho (Bob) likes country music. Despite the station not being a country station. I grew up with country music, so I have a fondness for it, but I don't usually listen to it. So it was a little odd yesterday when Bob started talking about this song that he heard that made him tear up and cry a bit. He even got his wife (of whom he has two little girls with) to take a listen too, and she even cried (he claims this is a very rare occurrence). He then proceeded to play the song on the air. I must say, while listening to it, I teared up a little. The song is a bit corny, but it's sweet. And as he said, if your a daughter, or have a daughter, or a granddaughter....just something about the song tugs at you a little. When I listened to it, it made me think of my Dad. The song is "Barbie Bandaids" by The Isaacs. I think you should take a listen to it if you can.

I won!! But nothing good...

I don't know how I can't win a contest, or the lottery. But when it comes to getting randomly drawn for things I don't want, it always seems to happen to me. Like for example, a few years ago. I was one of those lucky people that was selected for jury duty. My first thought "noooooo!!! how did they find me? darn it!!" I went, because I had too. And I served on two different juries on two totally different cases. The first was a simple, 'You hit my car with your car, and now I am gonna sue you!'
We had to all load up on a school bus and visit the 'scene of the crime' too. I was very familiar with where the accident happened. The only interesting thing about that case, was the judge reminded me of Judge Judy. She looked like her, and had the same, no B.S. attitude. Also the physical therapist that had to testify wasn't too bad lookin'. (I was single at the time, I could look.)
The second case I had to serve as juror on was an "attempted felonious sexual assault". That was so boring the judge (this time a guy) fell asleep in the middle of court one day!! The bailiffs quickly ran all us jurors out of the court room. We thought it was funny. Until they turned up the a/c for the rest of the day to keep him awake (it was cold!). Anyways, that was all about a guy, that supposedly broke into a bathroom stall in the ladies room, while a woman was going pee. And he was "exposed" and tried to force her to do some things that are totally inappropriate. Unfortunately we had to do a 'field trip' there too! Eww, it was a very creepy bar, even in the daylight. I never heard the word p*nis so many times in my life! I think the defendant's attorney liked to say that word, hehe.
One reason I got to this subject is, I got chosen, at random, for another stupid thing. Yet another, you have to do this by law deal. Our home was "randomly" chosen by the US Census Bureau for some kinda American Community Survey. This "survey" is more like a book! It even comes with its own 'mini book' just to explain how to fill everything out. I feel like I am gonna flunk a test! eek! And of course if I don't do it, I'm in trouble, since "by law" I have to fill it out. Damn it! I guess they only do it every 10 years. Why couldn't they of done it last year :-p I wouldn't of lived here yet, hehe.
That's it, next time I "win" something, I want it to be the lottery!! Aren't I due?? Pretty please! :-)

Funny

3 PIGS

The mind of a six year old is wonderful !! First grade...true story:

One day a first grade teacher was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs to her class. She came to the part of the story where the first pig was trying to accumulate the building materials for his home. She read, "...and so the pig went up to the man with the wheelbarrow full of straw and said, "Pardon me sir, but may I have some of that straw to build my house?'" The teacher paused then asked the class, "And what do you think that man said?"
One little boy raised his hand and said, "I think he said "'Holy Sh*t! A talking pig!'"
Gotta love kids, they pick up the darndest things :-)

Friday Fill-Ins 6

Another Friday Fill-Ins

1. Why do we have to work at jobs we really don't like to make money? Sometimes I wish it was like 'Star Trek', yes, I admit I used to watch that when I was younger...can't we just live our life to better ourselves and help others? :-)
2. Recycling and forgetting to water my plants are now habits.
3. I have got to say, I am pretty lucky in my life, when I consider things could of gone a different way.
4. I had never heard the phrase "**ck me running!!!!" and it made my Dad and I burst out laughing when we heard my mother yell it because she stubbed her toe. (ouch) Later I learned where she heard it from. Jen is a bad influence :-p
5. I will do it the way I always do.
6. How was I to know the paint wouldn't stay on the balcony floor. (dang it!)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to trying to figure some stuff out, tomorrow my plans include getting the Jeep inspected (keeping my fingers crossed) and some shopping and Sunday, I want to spend some quiet time with my hubby, and maybe mow the lawn!
