Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving this year seemed to suddenly appear and leave just as quickly. As always, lots and lots of family fun!

Before we all stuffed our faces, we of course were put through the never-ending, poses and pictures!
Toby and I..and me 40 lbs or so, smaller! Hurray!

 Sisters

 Kathy and Jason, the newlyweds

Gramma and Grampa, not so new, but still happily married :)
 D and D with their dogs :)

 Mother and Son

Mustaches anyone? (Everyone neglected to inform me that as we were taking pictures, mine was falling off, hah)
The Lorax??

I have no idea :)

Sister'staches
Could...not...smile...or else they would fall off :)

This is what I am always most thankful for!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Valentine's

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I have noticed (via facebook, etc.) that some people despise this day. I, even after going through a nasty divorce, still like Valentine's day. I don't think of it as a shove in my face of other happy couples. It's just another day to celebrate and recognize that I am lucky enough to have people in my life to love and love me back. Whether they be my family, friends or my pets, as opposed to a significant other. Doesn't matter to me. If I have learned anything, it's that life is too short to be bitter and pout. Life it what you make of it, and I plan to make any holiday as special as I want it.
I spent my day cleaning, and cooking (and avoiding mini disasters, like the crock pot coming alive and sparking). Made my family Valentine's pink, white chocolate chip, cookies.
So what if I am not out on a date, smothered in valentines, roses and chocolates....get over it single people. It's not about that.

Though it does so happen I did get a valentine delivery...and I love it! Miniature potted roses!!! I love that they will last me more then a few days...Thank you again to my Valentine!! ♥
And Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! ♥

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving this year was extra special. I remember holidays as a kid and just how enormous our family get togethers were. The kids table alone would fill up most of my grandparents living room. This year we saw some of that enormity back on Thanksgiving.

Our cousins from out of state were able to make a surprise (only a surprise to some people) trip, loved having them here!! They brought along some extra cuteness! ☺

Yay for long tables again! (Most everyone)
Alot of...passing along....
And what holiday isn't complete without dozens of family photos...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! ♥

Halloween Goodies ☻

I went searching for a Halloween recipe and I came across these!! I had to do a lil' substituting with the fingernails, (pecans instead of almonds) but they came out just as creepy!
Hope everyone has a hApPy hAlLoWeEn!! ☻

Valentine's

Now, I know Valentine's Day isn't all about flowers or jewelry. People go on and on about how commercialized it is. I have to agree, but only to a degree. Sometimes people need a reminder, to tell others how much they care. Even if it's just saying it.
In the almost 30 years I have been around however, I can't recall ever getting roses for v-day. And I was super happy to get 'em this year! They will be dead and gone in a week or so...but I was a giddy-idiot when I got my flowers (18, long stem roses), and v-day goodies! Love them! ♥ And thank you to my Valentine!

♥ Happy Valentine's Day! ♥

Christmas 2010

We started off our Christmas with a toast (with what else, but mimosas) to the newly engaged couple! Then it was down to business, presents!
Kaki ♥'s her snowman!
...and Cortney liked her snowflake covered gourd...
Dad, our designated 'present-passer-outer' ☺
Beepa and her Santa!
...and Mom opened up hers too!

This would be the painting I got from Cortney (painted by hers-truly)
...white birches, lil' bit of NH gets to hang on my wall. ☺

I had a wonderful Christmas. I say it time and time again, but I am so thankful for my family. We have good times and we have our bad, but I honestly don't know where I would be without each and every one of them.
So thank you, not only for the presents, but for being there for me and being just who you are.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ♥

Thanksgiving ☺

I started off my Thanksgiving, greeted by:
"The Blob"
The night before, as I always do, I made my dough for my infamous potato crescent rolls. For some reason (the world of yeast and what it does sometimes still makes me scratch my head) it went crazy. It's supposed to spend a minimum of 8 hrs in the fridge, and this was what I had when I woke up!
Still made excellent dough though!
They came out fantastic...yummy, buttery goodness! ☺ After stuffing our faces with all the food we made: Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, glazed carrots, candied yams, crescent rolls, and apple salad...we had dessert...pecan, chocolate, mixed berry and pumpkin pies!
There was alot of laughing, and many things to be thankful for. I am thankful for my family, and so many other things . Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

St. Patrick's Day Funny

A man stumbles drunk into a bar. There's only one other patron. The first man asks the second man to buy him a drink. The second man says: "Of course!"
The first man asks the second man: "Where are you from?" The second man says: "I'm from Ireland [pronounced Oiland]." The first man says: "Blow me down! I'm from Ireland [Oiland] too! Let's drink another round, to Ireland." They drink.

The first man then says: "Where in Ireland are you from?" The second man says: "Dublin [Dooblin]". "I can't believe it!" says the first man. "I'm also from Dublin! Let's drink another round, to Dublin." They drink.

The first man then says: "What school did you go to?" The second man replies: "Saint Mary's. I graduated in '62." "This is unbelievable!" the first man says. "I went to Saint Mary's and I graduated in '62, too!"

One of the regulars comes in and sits down at the bar. "What's been happening?" he asks the bartender. "Nothing much," replies the bartender. "The O'Malley twins are drunk again."

Paddy Counts His Rabbits
Paddy wanted to be an accountant, so he went and took the Irish accountancy exam.
Examiner: If I give you two rabbits and then I give you another two rabbits, how many rabbits do you have?
Paddy: Five.

Examiner: No, listen carefully again. If I give you two rabbits and then I give you another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Paddy: Five.

Examiner: Let's try this another way. If I give you two bottles of beer and then I give you another two bottles of beer, how many bottles of beer have you got?
Paddy: Four.

Examiner: Good! Now, if I give you two rabbits and then I give you another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Paddy: Five.

Examiner: How on earth do you work out that two lots of two rabbits is five? Paddy: I've already got one rabbit at home!

Thanksgiving Shots

For some reason I never put up any of the photos we took on Thanksgiving, so I am fixing that now...we tried to get a good shot of just us three girls, how many tries did it take to get a good one?

Take 1: None of us are paying attention at all, hehehe...
Take 2: apparently we still aren't aware of the camera...
Take 3: umm, Cort looks a bit confused...not to mention Abby's behind...try again...
Take 4: Now Bear is trying to look philosophical?...
Take 5: There we go, 'bout time girls! Thank goodness we have a digital camera, took us 5 tries! :)

Good shot of all of us, 'cept Beepa, she spent her Thanksgiving all the way in Washington state with her sistas! :)

And, while takin' one of the many, and I mean many, xmas photos, a joke slipped out (yah, it was me who slipped it, hehe) can you guess who it was about? I'm sure you can tell just by her face!

Love my family, they are the bestest!! :)
