Felt Like A Kid Again

Last Sunday Mike and I decided we needed to get out!! After nothing but work, and more work, we needed to let off some steam and have some fun! So after a little bit of shopping, we headed to the movies. Got to see the newest X-Men Movie: Wolverine. I thought it was good, and watching Hugh Jackman didn't hurt either. After that, we headed to the planetarium. Something neither of us has done since we were kids. We are lucky enough to live near the Morehead Planetarium. This place is amazing. The Planetarium was designed by the architects who planned the Jefferson Memorial, and they train astronauts there. It also is home to a Carl Zeiss Model VI Planetarium Projector, which was installed in 1969. One of only five in the world, and can 'produce' millions of stars and planets. So you can imagine they take very good care of it.
We went for the 'Carolina Skies' show. Where they show you what you could see and what to look out for when you walk right outside your door, along with some other stuff. She was going to show us the night sky over the Antarctic too, but we ran outta time.
Anyways, it was just amazing being able to sit there in the dark, and look up, and it felt like you were out in the middle of nowhere and could just see into the night sky for miles. You forgot you were even in a building. We definitely want to go again when the season changes, and there are other constellations to look at. If you haven't been to one, or haven't gone in awhile. You should totally go to a planetarium, and have fun looking at the night sky. Made me feel like a kid again.

Bull Durham

Something occurred to me the other day while watching tv. The local news was talking about the movie Bull Durham, and that they will be shooting a part 2. I, unlike most of the population, have never seen the movie Bull Durham. I was intrigued, I've of course heard about it, but for some reason or another, I never watched it before. Considering that I now live right down the road from Durham Bulls stadium, it hit me, I should really watch that movie.
Today while shopping, I happened upon one of those DVD bins in the store, you know, where you have to dig through all the old, sometimes not so good movies, and once in awhile you will find a treasure. Really I was looking for some hokey scary movie for Mike and I to watch on Halloween. Well, within 2 seconds, I pulled out, what else, the movie Bull Durham. It looked to be the last one. So I had to have it! I am proud to say, that tonight, I finally watched the movie. Now I know what everyone is talking about! It was good, and even more weird, was while I was watching it, I recognized alot of the places, and I knew what they were talking about in the movie, because I live there! It was very exciting, hehe. Now I can't wait to see part II, according to the news, I have a couple years to wait!
